Rolling Stone Magazine's 'Best of 00' issue
I have to say that I am impressed with Rolling Stone Magazine's "Best of 00 issue". The issue covers the best artists, albums and songs over the past decade. Jay-Z, M.I.A., Kanye and Eminem have all made into the top ten albums of the decade. What surprised me the most was the magazine's choice of the #1 single of the 00s, which was Gnarls Barkley's Crazy, followed by Jay-z 99 problems at #2, and Beyonce's Crazy in Love at #3. It had been a while since I had even read an issue of RR magazine and I can't help but notice how the magazine has become a lot more hip-hop friendly over the past decade. Maybe it's the magazine, or maybe it's the readers but hip-hop has clearly dominated the publication's perspective of the most influential artists and music of the 2000s.
